The statue
A Virgin to look up to
She is the tallest indoor Virgin in Latin America. The Immaculate Conception stands 14 metres tall and is carved in cedar wood. She holds the Christ Child in her arms, and the Child holds the dove of the Holy Spirit.
From the door it doesn’t sink in: walk to the middle of the nave and look up.
